2008 TV DVD Award Nominees Announced
Nominations for the Fifth Annual TV DVD awards include a mix of current hits and classic favorites. Also, for the first year, the awards will recognize the best TV releases on Blu-ray Disc.
The winners, based on a consumer vote, will be announced Tuesday, Oct. 14, during a gala dinner and cocktail reception at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, Calif. The awards are presented by Home Media Magazine in cooperation with DEG: The Digital Entertainment Group and the Entertainment Merchants Association.
To be eligible, titles must have been released between Oct. 1, 2007, and Sept. 30, 2008. A blue-ribbon panel of judges rated each title based on the complete DVD treatment, including program content, bonus materials and packaging. More than 150 submissions were considered.
Consumers can vote for their favorites through Oct. 3 at HomeMediaMagazine.com and TVShowsonDVD.com.
Advance registration tickets are $175 for DEG and EMA members, $190 for non-members before Monday, Oct. 6. After this date, tickets are $225 for DEG and EMA members, $240 for non-members.
