Subtitler

Currently looking to fill a full-time position subtitling foreign language content into English for DVD releases


Duties and responsibilities
- Create English subtitles for Japanese programs
- Edit and QC scripts for spelling, grammar, and usage
- Research references and terminology to ensure accuracy


Qualifications
- Experience in DVD subtitling a must
- Extreme attention to detail
- Some experience working with video editing software
- Basic Microsoft Office skills
- Familiarity with both PC and Mac platforms
- Familiarity with video standards
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year university preferred
- Knowledge of AP or Chicago style preferred
- Fluency or working knowledge of Japanese a plus
- Familiarity with the video industry a plus
