13TH ANNUAL ANIME EXPO, JULY 2-5, 2004

Witch Hunter Crispin Freeman Leads Voice Acting Panel
for Anime Workshops

Anaheim, California (May 11, 2004)— Anime Expo 2004
(AX2004), the largest anime convention in the United
States devoted to Japanese animation and manga (comic
books), continues to build anticipation among anime
aficionados by announcing Minoru Murao, Range Murata
and Satoshi Nishimura as official Guests of Honor.
Hosted by the Society for the Promotion of Japanese
Animation, AX2004 takes place July 2-5 at the Anaheim
Convention Center and is expecting nearly 20,000 fans
and anime industry professionals to attend. For more

Anime character designer extraordinaire Minoru Murao
is credited for Submarine 707R, Last Exile, and served
as assistant director on Gestalt; Range Murata is best
known for his outstanding character design work in
Blue Submarine #6 and Last Exile. His animation was
first recognized on covers and illustrations for
games; and Satoshi Nishimura's credits include
director of Hajime no Ippo/Fighting Spirit and TRIGUN
TV. This will be Satoshi's first appearance at Anime
Expo.

In addition, Crispin Freeman joins the growing list of
presenters and will lead the Voice Acting for Anime
workshops. Anime fans may recognize his voice as
Amon, lead witch hunter on Witch Hunter Robin, as Alan
Gabriel on Big O, as Duskmon on Digimon, among several
other popular anime series.

AX2004 will host panel discussions, video and film
programming, workshops, masquerade events, karaoke
contests, anime art exhibitions and much more. A
center piece of the Expo are the Cosplay (costume
play) events, where participants dress up and compete
as their favorite anime characters. This year, Anime
Expo will also feature a special Japanese Festival
theme.

AX2004 serves to foster trade, commerce and the
interests of the animation and comics industry by
serving as a key meeting place for members of the
industry to conduct business. Sponsors include Viz
Comics, Animerica, ADV Films, Geneon, Tofu Records,
Newtype USA and Anime Network. Sponsor hotels include
Anaheim Hilton, Anaheim Marriott, or Anaheim Coast
Hotels. The cost to attend the three-day expo is $45;
One Day Pass: $25; Two Day Pass: $40; Children: $20
(12 years and under; 5 and under free if accompanied
by member). Parental advisory: Some anime and manga
content contains adult themes.

The Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation
