Pikachu in a Kurta Joins Pokémon Go Game's Roster

The Pokémon GO smartphone game launched “Pikachu in a kurta” on Thursday as a limited-run character in India in celebration of Holi. The character will be available to capture on the app from March 13 through March 17.
The Pokémon Festivities event on October 16 revealed the designs for Pikachu in a kurta while launching “Pikachu in a saree” as a limited-run Diwali character in Pokémon GO. The event also saw the launch of the Pokémon-themed festive Yakult gift packs featuring the new designs.
The Pokémon Asia Official YouTube channels began streaming the Camping Trip with Pokémon CG/live-action shorts in October. It is also streaming “The Journey of One Dream” animated short film in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Bengali on their respective regional language channels.
Pokémon GO hosted the Indian qualifiers for the game's 2022 World Championship in May 2022. It hosted its 2023 qualifiers from April 15 to 16, from May 20 to 21, and on June 3. It had its regional playoffs on June 4, 2023.
