posted on by Alex Mateo
The January 2020 issue of Shueisha's Saikyō Jump magazine revealed on Friday that Hiroshi Wakamatsu's manga based on Shinta Ryokuchi's Sengoku Baseball: Nobunaga no Yakyū (Sengoku Baseball: Nobunaga's Baseball) novel series will enter its "climax" in the next issue on February 1.
Wakamatsu's manga launched in June 2016. The manga features character designs by the novel series' illustrator Harunobu Toribatake.
Ryokuchi launched his Sengoku Baseball novel series under Shueisha's Mirai Bunko label in May 2017. The novel series follows Kōtarō Yamada, sixth-grade young baseball genius who, due to an accident, ends up in hell being recruited for a samurai baseball team. In order to revive himself in the present day, he is forced to play as a pitcher on the Okehazama Falcons baseball team led by famed military commander Oda Nobunaga. Together, they compete against other teams led by famous Warring States-era military commanders.
