Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These Anime's 2nd 'Season' Films' Video Reveals 15 New Cast Members

The official website for Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These, the new anime of Yoshiki Tanaka's epic science fiction novels Legend of the Galactic Heroes, began streaming a character video and a new cast video on Monday for the three films in the show's second "season," titled The Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These Seiran (The New Thesis: Stellar War).

The second video reveals 15 more cast members:

• Eiji Hanawa as Wilhelm von Littenheim
• Masayoshi Sugawara as Alfred von Landsberg
• Ikkyū Juku as Grand Bishop of the Terraist Church
• Yasuhiro Mamiya as Legrange
• Kōsuke Takaguchi as Bronze
• Daisuke Hirakawa as Bernhard von Schneider
• Kenji Yamauchi as Arthur von Streit
• Isshin Chiba as Anton Fellner
• Hisanori Koyatsu as Leopold Schumacher
• Takaya Kuroda as Dawson
• Toshitsugu Takashina as Kubersly

Previously revealed new cast members include:

The films will open in Japan on September 27, October 25, and November 29, respectively. Each film will have a length of four television episodes. Crunchyroll screened "episode 0" and "episode 13" of the new anime earlier this month at Crunchyroll Expo. The site will also stream the anime under the title The Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These Second "in late summer / early fall of 2019."

The first season, The Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These Kaikō (The New Thesis: Star-Crossed), aired as a 12-episode series that premiered in April 2018. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan, and Funimation streamed an English dub.

Shunsuke Tada (Kuroko's Basketball, STARMYU) is directing the anime at Production I.G. Noboru Takagi (Durarara!!, Kuroko's Basketball) is in charge of the series scripts. Yōko Kikuchi (Junjō Romantica, Kuroko's Basketball, Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi - The World's Greatest First Love), Iwao Teraoka (The Brave Police J-Decker guest character designs, Kuroko's Basketball storyboarder), and Katsura Tsushima (Kuroko's Basketball episode animation director) are designing the characters, and Takayuki Gotō (Kuroko's Basketball, Blood-C) is serving as chief animation director.
