Marmalade Boy Little Manga Ends Next Month
posted on by Karen Ressler
This year's November issue of Shueisha's Cocohana magazine will publish the final chapter of Wataru Yoshizumi's Marmalade Boy Little manga on September 28.
The manga launched in Cocohana in March 2013, and the sixth compiled book volume shipped in March. M&C! licensed the manga in Indonesia.
The story is set 13 years after the last installment of the original series. The sequel follows the little sister and brother of Miki and Yū, the main leads of the original series.
The original manga centered around the romance between Miki and Yū, two teens whose parents suddenly decide to switch partners and remarry each other. Miki and Yū find themselves living under the same roof with their four mutual parents.
Yoshizumi published the original manga in Shueisha's Ribon magazine from 1992-1995. The North American publisher Tokyopop released the classic romance manga and its 1994-1995 anime adaptation in English. Discotek Media recently picked up the license for the anime.
In addition to the television anime adaptation, the manga inspired a 1995 anime film, a 2001 live-action Taiwanese television series, and a live-action film this past April.
