This year's 20th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine revealed on Thursday that manga creator Sankaku Head is preparing a new manga, and will reveal more information at a later date.
Sankaku Head ended the Himōto! Umaru-chan G manga in the same issue. The manga's one compiled book volume is slated to ship on June 19. The series launched in Weekly Young Jump last November as a sequel to Sankaku Head's earlier Himouto! Umaruchan manga.
Sankaku Head launched the original Himouto! Umaruchan manga in Weekly Young Jump in 2013 (after running an earlier two-chapter Himouto! Umaruchan! version in Miracle Jump in 2012), and ended it last November. Shueisha shipped the manga's 12th and final compiled book volume (seen right) last December. The manga had 3 million copies in print as of September. Seven Seas has licensed the manga, and it will release the manga's first volume in May.
The manga inspired a 12-episode television anime series in July 2015. Himouto! Umaru-chan R, the second anime season based on the manga, premiered in Japan last October.
The manga also inspired the Akita Imokko! Ebina-chan, Himōto! Umaru-chan S, and Himōto! Umaru-chan SS spinoff manga. Himōto! Umaru-chan SS ended in February 2017, and Akita Imokko! Ebina-chan ended in September 2017.
