The official Twitter account for Sankaku Head's Himōto! Umaru-chan manga revealed on Thursday that the series' compiled book volumes have a total of 3 million copies in print in Japan. The manga's 11th compiled volume will ship on Tuesday.
Sankaku Head launched the manga in Weekly Young Jump in 2013 (after running an earlier two-chapter Himōto! Umaru-chan! version in Miracle Jump in 2012). The manga had 2.7 million copies in print as of March.
Himōto! Umaru-chan R, the second anime season based on the manga, will premiere in Japan on AT-X at 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 8. The main staff is returning from the first season that premiered in 2015, including the anime studio Doga Kobo director Masahiko Ohta, series script supervisor Takashi Aoshima, and character designer Aya Takano. The main cast members are also returning.
The manga also inspired the Akita Imokko! Ebina-chan, Himōto! Umaru-chan S, and Himōto! Umaru-chan SS spinoff manga. The final two chapters of Akita Imokko! Ebina-chan will debut on Tuesday. Himōto! Umaru-chan SS ended on February 28.
