Digimon ReArise Smartphone Game Announced
posted on by Karen Ressler
This year's March issue of Shueisha's V Jump magazine announced on Saturday that Bandai Namco Entertainment is developing a new Digimon smartphone game titled Digimon ReArise. The game is slated for 2018. Bandai Namco Entertainment has opened a teaser website for the game.
The "friendship evolution Digimon RPG" will be free to play with the option to purchase items. Players will be able to visit a town to interact with and befriend Digimon. The story involves the sudden appearance of Digimon from the player's smartphone, and a sudden powerful force that attacks.
The magazine revealed two human characters: a "girl who seems lively" and a "boy who seems cool." Digimon Adventure character designer Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru is designing the characters. The advertisement teases the appearance of an original Digimon.
The most recent Digimon smartphone game, Digimon Links, launched in Japan in March 2016 and in English in October.
