posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Watanukiron launched the Super Sonico no Fuben na Nichijō (Inconvenient Daily Life of the Super Sonico) manga on North Star Pictures' Web Comic Zenyon website on Sunday. The "big" new series is a manga authorized by Nitroplus that marks the character's 10th anniversary.
The story centers on Sonico, a college student in Musashino, Tokyo. She works as the vocalist and guitarist in a three-piece band. She has also worked as a gravure model many times. Sonico is now taking on a new role.
The manga's first chapter is currently available to read on Web Comic Zenyon, and the next chapter will debut on August 20. New chapters of the manga will premiere on the third and fourth Sundays of every month.
"Super Sonico," the mascot girl of the "Nitro Super Sonic" events held by Nitroplus, already inspired Chiki Nonohara's Super Sonico ni koma four-panel manga and Sanjo Imu's SoniComi manga. In addition, Enterbrain's Magi-Cu label published the Super Sonico ni Comic four-panel manga anthology book.
The SoniAni: Super Sonico the Animation television anime premiered in 2014, and Sentai Filmworks released the series on home video in 2015.
Super Sonico inspired her own line of games, as well as figures including a giant 1/2-scale statue. She has also appeared in various games such as Namco Bandai Games' Super Heroine Chronicle and in a promotion for THQ's Saints Row: The Third game.
