posted on by Karen Ressler
Yū Tsunamino's Futari Monologue manga is inspiring a live-action drama. The series will stream on AbemaTV's AbemaGOLD Channel beginning in October, though the first episode will stream early on July 28. Cygames began streaming a promotional video:
The series stars Haruka Fukuhara (Kirakira ☆ Precure a la Mode's Cure Custard) as Hinata Omimura and Miki Yanagi (Doubutsu Sentai Zyuohger's Sera/Zyuohger Shark) as Mikage Mikuriya. Kenji Kurata is directing and writing the script.
In the story, Hinata is an introverted high school girl and Mikage is the "gal" who sits next to her in class. Hinata realizes Mikage is her friend from elementary school, and she wants to strike up the friendship again.
The ongoing manga series launched last October on Cygames' Cycomi website. The manga was included when, in May, Cygames and Kodansha announced a partnership to publish manga from Cycomi in print. The first compiled volume (pictured right) will ship on July 28.
