Ultraman Orb Film's Trailer Features Teamup With Ultraman X's Daichi

Anime news website Anime! Anime! began streaming a new trailer for Gekijōban Ultraman Orb - Kizuna no Chikara Okari Shimasu (Ultraman Orb the Movie - I'll Borrow the Power of Bonds), the live-action film of the Ultraman Orb series, on Thursday. The trailer features Gai Kurenai of Ultraman Orb teaming up with Daichi Ōzora of Ultraman X.
The film opens in Japan on March 11.
The film will see Ultraman Orb facing off against the an evil space witch named Muranau, who seeks to use the power of the Dark Ring to turn the whole world into a jewel, in her pursuit of all things beautiful. Ultraman Orb will team up with Ultraseven and Ultraman Zero in the film. The film's title hints that he will borrow the power of Ultraman Ginga, Ultraman Victory, and Ultraman X, as they also use the power of bonds.
Hideo Ishiguro (live-action Gokusen's Kengo Honjo) reprises his role as Gai Kurenai/Ultraman Orb in the film. Other cast members include Miyabi Matsuura, Naoto Takahashi, Hiroaki Nerio, Takaya Aoyagi, Shingo Yanagisawa, Oniyakko Tsubaki, Kensuke Takahashi, and Kōji Moritsugu.
Kiyotaka Taguchi is directing the film, and Takao Nakano is writing the script. Da-iCE will perform the film's theme song "TWO AS ONE."
The series premiered last July in Japan, and ended in December. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan. Taguchi, who directed 2015's Ultraman X series, once again directed Ultraman Orb. The director stated that the series contains "themes of traveling the noble path and returning to one's roots, while still being a funny and interesting Ultraman series." Ichirō Mizuki performed the show's theme song "Orb no Inori" (Orb's Prayer).
The series also has a prequel spinoff titled Ultraman Orb THE ORIGIN SAGA, which debuted on the Amazon Prime instant video service in Japan on December 26.
