Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon Video Introduces Premise
posted on by Karen Ressler
The official Japanese YouTube channel for The Pokémon Company began streaming the first introduction video for the Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon (Pokémon Chō Fushigi no Dungeon) Nintendo 3DS game on Tuesday.
The video introduces the basic premise of the game. As in the earlier Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games, the player is a human who has turned into a Pokémon. A series of questions at the beginning of the game will determine which Pokémon the player will become, as well as which partner Pokémon the player will meet.
The game will feature all 720 pokémon that will be available at the time of the game's debut. The player Pokémon and partner Pokemon will be one of 20 options: the three starter Pokémon from each generation, Pikachu, and Riolu.
Nintendo describes the latest installment:
Players can look forward to even greater, randomly created dungeons that change each time they enter. In Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon, players will battle alongside Legendary and Mythical Pokémon to save the world in a sweeping tale of adventure and mystery.
The game will ship in Japan on September 19, in North America this winter, and in Europe next spring.
The previous entries in the franchise have sold more than 13 million units worldwide.
