Hajime no Ippo Boxing Manga Gets PS3 Game
posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Bandai Namco Games began streaming a teaser promotional video on Wednesday for a PlayStation 3 game based on George Morikawa's Hajime no Ippo boxing manga. The game is commemorating the 25th anniversary of the franchise.
Bandai Namco Games revealed the game in Thursday's issue of Kadokawa's Famitsu magazine. The game will feature many familiar boxers from Morikawa's manga, and the game will recreate some of the manga's most famous scenes with full voicing. As players progress through the game, they will be able to unlock scenes that weren't in the original manga.
The game's central story will revolve around Ippo Makunouchi (played by Kohei Kiyasu) and Ichirō Miyata (played by Tomokazu Seki).
The "dramatic boxing action" game will ship on the PS3 on December 11 and will retail for 7,600 yen (about US$71).
