Mushibugyō Action Manga Gets Original Video Anime Volumes
posted on by Egan Loo
This year's 24th issue of Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine is announcing on Wednesday that Hiroshi Fukuda's action manga Jōjū Senjin!! Mushibugyō will bundle multiple original video anime (OVA) volumes. The first OVA will be bundled on a special-edition DVD with the manga's 15th volume on July 18.
The original manga is set in Edo-era Tokyo in the early 1700s. The eighth shogun Tokugawa Yoshimune creates a new magistrate unit — Mushibugyō — to protect the people in the heart of the city from giant insects or "Mushi." Each member is a specialist with unique fighting skills.
In the first OVA, the main lead Jinbee and the other Mushibugyō members return from Kishū to Edo, but they have no idea what is waiting for them there.
The manga already inspired a television anime last year, and Crunchyroll streamed this anime series as it aired in Japan.
