Ghost in the Shell Arise 1st Flash Anime Short Streamed

Sumire Uesaka plays unfriendly, demoted Motoko Kusanagi in FROGMAN'S "remake" series

DLE Inc. posted the first episode in FROGMAN's four-episode "remake" of the Ghost in the Shell Arise video anime series. The "remake" is in FROGMAN's own style.

In the video, a superior to Motoko Kusanagi (played by Sumire Uesaka) and her team expresses his anger that Motoko does not ever smile, say hello when they pass each other in the hallway, and does not laugh at his wordplay jokes (in fact, she gets angry). Because of this, he demotes her team. Motoko explains that her team has been demoted constantly, from public safety to extracurricular activities to club activities to team circle activities. When Motoko asks how much more they will be demoted, Daisuke Aramaki tells Motoko that she will have to greet her superiors when she sees them to avoid getting pushed down the ranks more. When Motoko asks for Aramaki to keep jokes to his hairstyle, Aramaki retorts by saying that her hairstyle's bangs are also strange. He is however, quickly silenced from a frightening look from Motoko.

Because the episode is sponsored by the Calorie Mate Japanese snack, Aramaki says that he wants Motoko to become more balanced like Calorie Mate. He explains that all the nutrients in Calorie Mate are all balanced, as having an imbalance is bad. After experiencing the delicious flavors of cheese, fruit, chocolate, maple, and potato Calorie Mate snacks, Motoko and her team learn how to smile. After this improvement of raising the angle of her lip, she and her team are returned to their duties of public safety. However, after her superior makes a few terrible puns, Motoko's terrifying face returns, and they are returned to team circle activities in one fell swoop.

The anime is a part of the Channel 5.5 project, which adds new parody anime videos of famous manga on an irregular schedule. The story premise behind the project is a fictional television station that people can only catch if they press the "5" and "6" buttons on their remotes simultaneously. Three more parts of The Ghost in the Shell "remake" series will be released in the future.

FROGMAN is the "director/writer/character designer/sound Recording Engineer/Flash animator/editor/voice actor" of the Eagle Talon web series. The production company DLE Inc. and FROGMAN launched the first Himitsu Kessha Taka no Tsume (Secret Society Eagle Talon) television series in 2006, and the series spawned five films, an original video anime, and more television anime series. The sixth move, Taka no Tsume 7 Joō Heika Joboob, is slated for April 4. He already worked on Flash-animated projects for manga such as Thermae Romae, Shima Kōsaku and Lupin III.
