posted on by Sarah Nelkin
Shogakukan and Kinokuniya Southern Theater announced this month that a stage play adaptation of Gōshō Aoyama's Detective Conan (Case Closed) manga has been green-lit.
The first round of the stage play will star Miyū Sawai (live-action Sailor Moon's title character), Masashi Aoyama, Ray Fujita, Masakazu Nemoto, Maybe, Yutaka Hamamoto, and Toshiki Ayata. In addition, voice actresses Minami Takayama (Conan) and Wakana Yamazaki (Ran) will be special performers in the play, titled “Mystery Stage Detective Conan: Satsui no Kaien Bell” (The Curtain-Rising Bell of Murderous Intent). Hayashi Mori (Space Dandy) is writing the scripts.
The play will be interactive, since it will involve the audience members in a murder mystery case. The audience members must solve the mystery with the help of Conan's wit.
The play will run from June 4 to June 15 at the Kinokuniya Southern Theater in Tokyo's Shibuya ward.
