posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
The official website for the 2014 Doraemon film began streaming the second trailer for the upcoming film Eiga Doraemon: Shin Nobita no Daimakyō - Peko to 5-nin no Tankentai (Doraemon the Movie: New Nobita's Great Demon ~Peko and the Exploration Party of Five~) on Friday.
The story follows the heroes of the Doraemon television series who must go on an adventure to help a dog prince return to his kingdom, deep within an unexplored land.
The new film is a remake of the 1982 film Doraemon: Nobita's Great Demon, which was written by original Doraemon co-creator Fujiko F. Fujio. (This year would have been the late creator's 80th birthday.) Shinnosuke Yakuwa is directing the remake, and Higashi Shimizu wrote the screenplay.
The film will open in Japan on March 8. Each filmgoer will receive one of 80 different "Go Go! Peko & Dora Exploration Party" toys.
Takashi Yamazaki (Returner, Always: Sunset on Third Street, Ballad, Space Battleship Yamato) and Ryûichi Yagi (Pénélope tête en l'air line director, Moyashimon 3D CG director) are also directing Stand By Me Doraemon, Doraemon's first 3D CG film. That film will open next summer.
