Yama no Susume Mountain-Climbing Anime Gets 2nd Season
posted on by Sarah Nelkin
Presepe News confirmed that a second anime season based on Shiro's Yama no Susume (Encouragement of Climb) manga was announced at the Yama no Susume Fan Event on Sunday. The second season will have 15-minute episodes — unlike the first season, which had five-minute episodes — and will run for two cours or half a year.
The manga and anime tell the story of childhood friends: Aoi, a girl who prefers staying inside and who has acrophobia, and Hinata, a girl who loves mountains. The two decide to climb a mountain in order to once again see the Morning Sun from its peak as they did when they were young.
The anime adaptation of Shiro's manga premiered in Japan earlier this year, and Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan. The website maintainer of a Yama no Susume fan site said in October that he "can't wait for a second anime season next April," although the site removed these words later.
