MCV: Capcom Europe to Lay Off Over Half of Staff in Restructuring
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
The Market for Computer & Video Games (MCV) website quoted a CAPCOM Europe representative stating, "Following a restructure at its U.S. operation, CAPCOM's European organization is currently evaluating its structure to ensure it is in the best position to take advantage of the changing market conditions the industry is facing." MVC is reporting the company is expected to let go over half of its current employees.
CAPCOM's U.S. branch let go of staff in July, and senior vice president Christian Svensson stepped down voluntarily from the company. The Japan branches reported financial losses in 2012 and the first quarter of 2013.
