posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Video game news website Polygon reported on Thursday that CAPCOM senior vice president Christian Svensson has stepped down voluntarily from the company. According to Polygon, Svensson posted the news on his Facebook page. Svensson's post noted that CAPCOM is going through a planned reorganization, and noted that "sadly, I'm not the only one affected."
Svensson said he hopes to gather resumes from other CAPCOM staff who were let go to send them out to his contacts in the video game industry. Svensson joined CAPCOM eight years ago, and he was a frequent point of contact with fans through the CAPCOM Unity website's blog and forums.
In his Facebook post, Svensson wrote: "I've had the opportunity to interface with the best fans any company could ever hope to have. I know that I wasn't always able to deliver what they wanted, but I promise that I did my best to champion their needs and wants. So thank you to the fans who made my job rewarding, challenging, and, if nothing else, interesting."
