Square Enix: New Multiplayer Legacy of Kain Game in the Works

Square Enix community manager George Kelion confirmed with video game website VG24/7 on Friday that an unnamed studio is developing a multiplayer game for the Legacy of Kain franchise.
"Nosgoth is set in the same universe as previous LoK games, but on a different branch to the Blood Omen and Soul Reaver series," Kelion said. "The community should not be thinking of Nosgoth in terms of a single-player experience."
Square Enix registered the "warfornosgoth.com" domain in February. "Nosgoth" is the setting for Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix Europe's (formally Eidos) Legacy of Kain action adventure series. A total of five games were released in the series, the most recent being Legacy of Kain: Defiance (pictured right) which was released for PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PC in 2003. Patch notes for the AMD Catalyst 13.5 device driver and an entry in the Steam game service's database leaked the game title's announcement ahead of schedule.
Crystal Dynamics stated in an interview in 2011 that they are not working on the series.
