Kimi ni Todoke, Aozora Yell Get 1-Shot Crossover Manga
posted on by Egan Loo
"Mayuge no Kakudo wa 45° De" ("45 degree eyebrows"), a one-shot crossover between Karuho Shiina's Kimi ni Todoke and Kazune Kawahara's Aozora Yell manga, ran in the June issue of Shueisha's Bessatsu Margaret magazine on Monday. In the eight-page story, Kimi ni Todoke's substitute teacher Kazuichi "Pin" Arai makes a pass at two girls, who happen to be Yōko Sugimura and Maki of Aozora Yell's brass band. The issue also ran a joint interview between Shiina and Kawahara.
This is the first one-shot manga celebrating the 50th anniversary of the magazine. For the second, the next issue of Bessatsu Margaret will run "Sono Omokage o Shitteru" (I Know This Trace of a Person), the first brand-new work in about six years from manga creator Io Sakisaka (Strobe Edge, Ao Haru Ride). Kawahara also drew a new 50-page installment in her High School Debut sequel Enkoi Debut (Eternal Love Debut) in the June issue.
Viz publishes Kimi ni Todoke and High School Debut in North America.
