2013 Detective Conan Film Tops 1.5 Billion Yen

According to Kōgyō Tsūshinsha, Detective Conan: Private Eye in the Distant Sea held its #1 spot during its second week at the box office. The film has earned 1.5 billion yen (about US$15 million) at the box office and sold one million tickets in 10 days.
The film opened on April 20 in Japan in the #1 spot at the box office. The 17th Detective Conan film opening weekend was 106.6% higher than last year's film, Detective Conan: The Eleventh Striker, earned on its way to an eventual final total of 3.29 billion yen (US$35.4 million).
The Eiga Crayon Shin-chan: Bakauma—! B-Kyū Gourmet Survival!! film dropped to #6 from the #2 spot and the Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods film dropped to #8 from the #4 spot. Kamen Rider × Super Sentai × Uchū Keiji Superhero Taisen Z film opened in the #3 spot, followed by the live-action Library Wars in the #4 spot, and Takeshi Miike's Wara no TATE film in the #5 spot.
