The PR agency Fetch Publicity has announced in an email correction to its release schedule that, "The actual release date for Cat Planet Cuties is 10th June, and not 6th May as originally stated. Apologies for the mix up."
Cat Planet Cuties is adapted from Okina Kamino's Asobi ni Iku yo! light novels, about Kio Kakazu, a high school freshman in Okinawa. A girl with cat ears appears before him during a memorial service for one of his family ancestors. The girl calls herself Eris and claims she is an alien. Before long, fanatical alien worshippers and a mysterious government agency are in hot pursuit of Eris, but Kio's childhood friend Manami — who wants to follow in her father's footsteps in the CIA — captures Eris. Kio finds himself having to protect Eris from everyone.
11 volumes have been published since Kamino started the light novel series in 2003. A manga adaptation has been running in Monthly Comic Alive magazine from Media Factory (the publisher of the light novels) since 2006, and five manga volumes have since been compiled. Houdeneizou (Wagaya no Oinari-sama.) draws the illustrations in the light novels, while the artist "888" draws the manga version.
