Organizers of Canada's Anime North convention announced on Tuesday that Japanese voice actor Ryō Horikawa and voice actress Eriko Nakamura will be guests of honor at the event. Horikawa is best known for voicing Dragon Ball Z's Vegeta, a role he is reprising in the upcoming film, Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods. He also voiced Heiji Hattori in Detective Conan (Case Closed), Reinhard von Lohengramm in Legend of Galactic Heroes movies and videos, Kō Uraki in Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory, and Andromeda Shun in Saint Seiya.
Horikawa was previously a guest at Anime Weekend Atlanta and Anime Expo last year. He also attended Kawaii-Kon in 2011 and Sakura-Con in 2010.
Nakamura voiced Haruka Amami in last year's The IDOLM@STER anime series. She's reprising the role in the super-deformed PUCHIM@S spin-off. Funimation is streaming the series as it airs in Japan. Nakamura's other roles include Ui Nakatsugawa in A Bridge to the Starry Skies, Belgium in Hetalia: World Series, and Chisato Sumiyoshi in Love, Election & Chocolate.
The convention is also featuring three Japanese musical guests: J-pop singer Chii Sakurabi and J-Rock bands AWOI and Umbrella. Anime North will be held May 24-26 at the Toronto Congress Center.
