posted on by Andrew Osmond
Manga Entertainment has tweeted that it has acquired Oblivion Island: Haruka and the Magic Mirror, a CGI fantasy film by Production I.G, which debuted in Japanese cinemas in 2009. The film will be released on both DVD and Blu-ray on March 25 2013. The story follows the fantasy adventure of 16-year-old Haruka and her quest to find her lost hand mirror given to her by her late mother, which leads Haruka to the fantastical land of forgotten items.
Directed by Shinsuke Satō (Gantz live action films), the film was nominated for the award for Excellent Animation of the Year at the 33rd Japan Academy Prize.
Correction - An earlier version of this story wrongly gave the release date as in 2014. Apologies for the mistake.
