Hello Kitty Transforms Into Strawberry Hero Ichigoman in Anime Short

Sanrio posted the first episode in a new series of Hello Kitty web anime shorts on Tuesday.
In the first "Power the Kitty!" short, Hello Kitty uses a smartphone to transform into the super hero character "Ichigoman" (Strawberryman) who fights off monsters that are born from wicked hearts. When Ichigoman is caught by the monsters, she is saved by two other mysterious superheroes on a motorbike.
Aoki Jun directed the short and Kato Yo produced the short at the Space Neko Company. Suzuki Masafumi narrated the short.
Yuko Yamaguchi, the original designer of Hello Kitty, featured Ichigoman in an exhibition of her artwork that began last year, and the superhero's popularity grew from there.
The superhero already boasts an entire line of character goods — from plush figures and compact mirrors to iPhone cases and chewing tablets, and the character made its Tokyo debut in July.
