Live-Action Akira Director Collet-Serra in Talks for Another Film

The New York magazine's Vulture blog reported on Thursday that director Jaume Collet-Serra is in negotiations for the Here There Be Monsters film from Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. Collet-Serra is the Catalonian director currently attached to direct the live-action Akira film at Warner Brothers with producer Leonardo DiCaprio.
Vulture reported that Akira in its current state was considered by Warner Brothers to be too costly, and that the studios' current plan is to have Collet-Serra direct another film called Harker first, and then return to the live-action Akira project with a lower budget.
