1st Kid Icarus 3D Anime Short Presented by Nintendo

On Thursday and Saturday, the Nintendo Video service for the Nintendo 3DS system began offering two of the three parts of the first Kid Icarus 3D anime short in Japan and North America. "Thanatos Rising" ("Sora-Tobu Mokuba" or The Flying Wooden Horse) centers around the angel Pit as he pursues Thanatos, the God of Death. Each part will be available for one week only, and the final part will debut on Tuesday in Japan.
Nintendo President and CEO of Nintendo Satoru Iwata announced last September that the anime studios Production I.G, Studio 4°C and SHAFT are each creating an animated short to promote the video game Kid Icarus: Uprising. Production I.G produced the "Thanatos Rising" short. The game itself will ship in Japan on March 22 and in North America and Europe on March 23.
