Toei Animates New Precure All-Stars 3D Theater Short
posted on by Egan Loo
Japan's Toei Animation announced on Wednesday that it is producing Precure All-Stars 3D Theater, a new 3D dance short which it will start screening at events and stereoscopic 3D theaters around late July. The short runs about 12 minutes long (without dialogue) and features the main casts from all the television series in the Precure magical girl franchise so far — including the eighth series, the ongoing Suite Precure.
Toei used motion-captured 3D computer graphics for the ending animation sequence of the previous Fresh Precure! anime series in 2009. It also showcased a stereoscopic 3D re-rendering of the ending dance sequence from the Precure All Stars DX2: Kibō no Hikari—Rainbow Jewel o Mamore! film at Tokyo International Anime Fair last year. However, Toei said that it used the latest computer-graphics techniques it has gained since then to produce the new short.
