U.S. TV Channel Chiller Adds Horror Anime on Mondays
posted on by Egan Loo
The American distribution and licensing company Starz Media has announced that the Chiller television channel has begun showing a new Monday evening programming block of horror anime this month. Like its sibling channel Syfy (formerly Sci Fi), Chiller calls its Monday anime block "Ani-Monday" and features titles from Starz Media's Manga Entertainment. However, Chiller's Ani-Monday block runs two hours earlier than Syfy's version at 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. ET. Chiller's Ani-Monday block normally repeats at 4:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. ET.
Chiller has already run Blood: The Last Vampire, Vampire Wars, and Ninja Scroll on July 6 and 13, and it will run Tokko, Sword for Truth, and Descendants of Darkness starting next Monday and continuing into August.
Starz Media also confirmed that Syfy has renewed its deal with Manga Entertainment to run Ani-Monday programming every Monday from 11:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. ET. Syfy is currently showing two episodes each of Mobile Suit Gundam 00 Second Season and Rave Master every week.
