Toyama Animators Produce Shorts to Promote Tourism
posted on by Egan Loo
The Fanworks company has announced the Toyama Tourism Anime Project — an initiative to promote sightseeing in Toyama Prefecture with anime videos — via the launch of a website and three anime/live-action shorts on Friday. Creators who live in this western Japanese prefecture and local broadcasting stations have been collaborating on the project.
In particular, the P.A. Works studio (Brave Story , Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~, True Tears) animated part of the five-minute short "Nakaseru Sora ni Aitai: Tateyama no Koibito-hen," while The BERICH team produced the eight-minute, Flash-animated short "Nakaseru Sora ni Aitai: Love Mountain Tateyama-hen." Another video highlights the "Toki no Shizuku" anime theme song by local resident sophie+. The campaign is promoting Toyama's natural sights and handicrafts not only to visitors from the rest of Japan, but also to international tourists.
