Fruits Basket Events at Macy's in New York & Virginia

In addition to the Fruits Basket event in New York City's Herald Square on Saturday, Tokyopop is holding a similar Friday event at the Macy's department store in the Flushing neighborhood of New York City, as well as a Saturday event at the Macy's in Arlington, Virginia. However, Tokyopop and Macy's list conflicting times (2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., respectively) for the Flushing event. The Arlington event starts at 1:00 p.m.
In all three stores, there will be a costume contest in which the prize is a deluxe "fruits basket" of character goods, including a Fruits Basket Sticker Collection, planner, T-shirt, and hat. Shoppers who make a purchase of at least US$75 (US$100 according to Tokyopop) will receive the Fruits Basket Ultimate Edition Vol. 1 manga, a Fruits Basket DVD, and a Fruits Basket Fan Book. Shoppers can "meet your favorite Fruits Basket characters" and "have your photo taken with Tohru and friends," thanks to three Fruits Basket backgrounds that will be placed in the stores.
