posted on by Egan Loo
The Japanese anime production company TMS Entertainment has launched the "TMSanime's Channel" on the YouTube video website and has begun streaming the English-dubbed version of the Sherlock Hound (Meitantei Holmes) anime series for free on Friday. Academy Award-winning director Hayao Miyazaki (Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Spirited Away, Ponyo) and director Kyōsuke Mikuriya (Lupin III: Part II, Ulysses 31) oversaw this 1984-1985 television classic that re-imagines Sir Authur Conan Doyle's brilliant detective and the rest of England as canine characters.
Currently, six episodes of this Tokyo Movie Shinsha production are online, but TMS Entertainment plans to put all 26 episodes on the channel. Pioneer Animation released the anime on DVD in North America in 2002. Sherlock Hound is the first series in TMS Entertainment's free video streams for the United States.
The channel is also streaming several Japanese promotional videos for the upcoming Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas - Meiō Shinwa video series, the Kupū~!! Mamegoma! television anime, the Live On Cardliver Kakeru card game, and the Ani-miru mobile phone site.
