posted on by Egan Loo
The official website of the San-X design and marketing firm has announced that its popular Mamegoma seal character will get its own weekly television anime series, Kupū~!! Mamegoma!, on January 10. The palm-sized "bean seal" character will star in its own anime along with the newly created Mamekawa family: the father, mother, big sister Akane, and little sister Yui.
San-X also developed other characters that have been fads in Japan, such as Kogepan ("Burnt Bread"), Nyan Nyan Nyanko ("meow meow kittens" in everyday foods), and Afro Ken ("afro-haired dog"). Kogepan and Afro Ken have already been made into anime.
