Japanese Animation DVD Ranking, February 10-16

Toshio Li's live-action film adaptation of Kiminori Wakasugi's Detroit Metal City rock comedy manga debuted on Oricon's weekly DVD sales chart in no less than three spots. The standard and special editions sold 20,375 and 13,251 copies to rank at #5 and #6, respectively. The Detroit Metal City Complete-Limited-Pressing Metal Monster Box (pictured at right) moved 5,997 copies to place at #12.
Yukihiko Tsutsumi's first live-action film based on Naoki Urasawa's 20th Century Boys suspense manga dropped from #3 to #9 in its third week. It sold 9,033 more copies to add to its total of 83,685. Daikessen! Super Ultra 8 Kyōdai, Takeshi Yagi's newest entry in the Ultraman franchise, sold 2,712 more copies of its standard edition DVD to add to its total of 24,881. It dropped from #21 to #22 in its fourth week. Hana Yori Dango Final, the theatrical finale to the recent live-action adaptation of Yōko Kamio's Boys Over Flowers manga, sold 2,271 more copies in its 10th week of release to rank at #28.
