Armiger Entertainment to Re-Release Tenchi Muyo! Comics

MYRTLE BEACH, SC – April 22, 2025 – Armiger Entertainment has licensed Tenchi Muyo! comic books originally released in 1997 as part of early attempts to appeal to American markets. The company is launching a Kickstarter campaign to reprint all 6 issues in a single omnibus edition.

Tenchi Muyo!: American Omnibus Edition is part of an overall attempt to reintroduce the property to audiences outside of Japan. The re-release of the American comic books is meant to mark the launch of an American Tenchi Continuity (ATC) to distinguish it from original creator Masaki Kajishima's Japanese Tenchi Continuity (JTC) and past iterations of the multitudinous franchise.

Armiger Entertainment has the right of first refusal, meaning the possibility of future Tenchi Muyo! installments in any medium featuring familiar favorites like Detective Kiyone rests entirely on how far backers can go above and beyond the funding goal.

Tenchi Muyo! began as an OVA series in 1992 before proliferating into multiple mediums and numerous continuities. These comic books are a snapshot in time when Japanese licensors were experimenting with different marketing strategies. Unlike manga, these comic books were originally written and released in English with a distinct blend of artistic sensibilities.

ABOUT ARMIGER ENTERTAINMENT: Armiger Entertainment, LLC is a new company focused on revitalizing interest in Japan's overlooked gems of yesteryear. Wesley Vaughn, contributor to the Tenchicast! podcast and co-author of a forthcoming book on the history of the franchise, is its founder and president who wants to bring back Tenchi Muyo! in a big way.

Joining him in this endeavor are Michael Perge and Jon Lobo, whose experience in anime fandom and the wider industry have proven invaluable to implementing this business venture.
