Japanese Animation DVD Ranking, January 27-February 2 (Updated)

Yukihiko Tsutsumi's first live-action film based on Naoki Urasawa's 20th Century Boys suspense manga debuted at #5 and #8 (for the deluxe edition) on Oricon's weekly DVD sales chart. It sold 52,414 regular DVDs and 15,195 deluxe edition DVDs. Daikessen! Super Ultra 8 Kyōdai, Takeshi Yagi's newest entry in the Ultraman franchise, sold 5,566 more copies of its standard edition DVD to add to its total of 23,227. It fell from #7 to #28. The Mainichi Shimbun paper's Mantan Web site reports that Nana Mizuki Live Fighter Blue X Red Side is the first release by a musical artist to sell over 10,000 Blu-ray Discs. The Red Side and Blue Side versions sold 14,712 and 14,525 DVDs, respectively, in its first week.
