Zeta Gundam Box Sets Go Blu-ray in Japan this January

Yoshiyuki Tomino and Sunrise's Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam anime series will be released this winter in two Blu-ray Disc sets in Japan. A product listing on Bandai Visual's website reveals that the Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam Memorial Box Part I will be released on December 19 as a limited edition with 25 HD-mastered episodes off new film prints, a 60-page booklet, and a box with new art. The box will retail at 36,750 yen (about $US336). The second box set is scheduled for January 23, 2009. These will be the first Blu-ray Disc box sets for a Gundam television series, although the recent Mobile Suit Gundam 00 series is being released on Blu-ray Disc starting this month.
