Dilbert with an attitude: Japan's new 'salaryman'
posted on
The Christian Science Monitor is running an article about the popular manga series Salaryman Kintaro which includes an interview with Hiroshi Motomiya, the creator of Salaryman Kintaro.
Salaryman Kintaro is especially popular among real life Japanese salarymen, mostly in their 40s, because Kintaro is able to stand up for his beliefs in corporate Japan in a way that is not possible in the real world.
According to the article a second Kintaro film is on the way and the series does well in Hong Kong as well as Korea but no plans are yet underway for an American release.
