Okayama Prefecture Launches "Kibi Dango" Anime PR Project
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Okayama Prefecture, like Saga prefecture and Miyagi prefecture, is turning to an anime project to promote the area's tourism. The project is a follow up to the earlier "Okayama Inu" animation voiced by Hisako Kanemoto.
The new project is dubbed "Kibi Dango" and is currently in production. The anime stars Yūki Kaji as Inukai and Kandori (first two characters on the far left of the group image), Ayumu Murase as Saruhiko and Alec-sensei (two characters on the far right), and Yui Horie as Momo and urara (center two characters).
The anime will take place in a high school within Okayama.
「きび男子(だんご)」公開に向けて、作業を進めています。(ここからはクリエイター任せのところがありますが)

Like "Okayama Inu," "Kibi Dango's" characters are based on the popular Japanese folktale "Momotarō." There are characters representing Momo, the dog, the pheasant, the monkey, and the oni. Furthermore, the story of Momotarō is often associated with Okayama, and the demon island in the story is often thought to be the real Megijima Island.
