Sword Art Online Character Designer Collaborates With Kids' Clothing Brand
posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Character designer Shingo Adachi (Sword Art Online, Wagnaria!!, Galilei Donna) is collaborating with the Japanese children's clothing brand Betty on a new project. For the first part of the project, Adachi contributed illustrations of characters wearing Betty products.
The characters appear on a display at Betty's new store in Harajuku, Tokyo, which opened on May 3. Betty debuted in 2003, and the brand targets its pop-culture-inspired clothes at elementary and junior high school students.
Anime and manga have partnered with apparel companies to appear on a wide variety of children's clothing. Evangelion onesies went on sale in Japan in 2015, and Evangelion children's jeans and accessories soon followed.
