New Poll: Which Shōnen Jump Anime Are Best to Show Your Kids

The Japanese site My Navi Woman conducted a poll between November 19 and 21 of 405 women between the ages of 22 and 34. The topic: Which anime based on Weekly Shonen Jump manga are best to show your kids? Shonen Jump has been around for a long time, appeals to multiple demographics, and has spawned anime that are well-known around Japan and the world, which made the site's entertainment research division curious what shows its readers would most like to relive with their kids.
The 1993 basketball anime Slam Dunk topped the list, with 13.3% of respondents choosing it. They cited its comedic value, interesting story, and its emphasis on the importance of friendship. "Its appeal should transcend generations," opined a 28-year-old office worker. "I really want them to laugh at [Hanamichi's] Fun-Fun Defense."
One Piece came second, garnering 12.8% of the votes. Respondents appreciated its core values of friendship, determination, and an adventurous spirit. Dragon Ball, another famous action-adventure series, took third place; respondents also pointed to its gags, exciting story, and themes of friendship and dedication. A 33-year-old businesswoman referred to it as "definitely the template for [Shonen] Jump."
