Level-5 CEO Discusses More Professor Layton, Ni no Kuni
posted on by Egan Loo
Akihiro Hino, the CEO of the game studio Level-5, responded on Tuesday to a Twitter post from a fan "hungry" for more in Level-5's Professor Layton puzzle game franchise. While Hino acknowledged that the franchise has not been discussed much recently, he indicated that his company can make an announcement "in just a little while longer." He then teased, "Professor Layton and _______. This one's got a long title."
Hino also spoke about prospects for more in the Ni no Kuni role-playing game franchise during the Namco Bandai Global Gamers! Day 2012 event in Las Vegas last week. Enterbrain's Famitsu magazine asked him if fans may expect new projects in the franchise after the international release of Ni no Kuni (specifically, Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch for the PlayStation 3 early next year). Hino indicated that if sales were good, then he would like to continue the franchise. He noted that other Level-5 projects have sold better overseas, such as Dark Cloud, Dark Chronicle, and Professor Layton.
