Nodame's Tomoko Ninomiya Gives Birth to Healthy Boy
posted on by Egan Loo
The husband of Nodame Cantabile manga creator Tomoko Ninomiya announced on Ninomiya's blog on Saturday that she gave birth to a 2.9-kilogram (about 6.4-pound) boy on Thursday, November 24. Both the mother and the child are doing well.
Ninomiya already gave birth to another son in October 2008. She had taken time off from her manga drawing in her last month of that pregnancy.
Shueisha's Monthly You magazine published Ninomiya's one-shot baby-raising essay manga titled Papa ni Itte ne ♥ (pictured right) earlier this month. The magazine also revealed in that issue that Ninomiya will turn the manga into a regular series next spring. She launched still another manga called 87 Clockers in the Shueisha's Jump Kai magazine in June.
Del Rey published the 16th volume of Nodame Cantabile in North America in 2009. This manga was adapted into three television anime series, and has also received live-action drama and film adaptations.
