Sega: Valkyria Chronicles 3 May Still Be Localized in English
posted on by Jennifer Sherman
In contrast to last week's announcement, Sega West Associate Brand Manager Aaron Webber stated at New York Comic Con over the weekend that "all hope is not lost" for an English-localized version of Valkyria Chronicles 3 : Unrecorded Chronicles in North America and Europe. The Sega representative said he cannot confirm that the strategy game will be released in the West, but he encouraged fans to continue petitioning for its localized release.
The fan group Gallian Liberation Front organized an online petition for Sega, and a printed version of the petition with 2,088 signatures was given to Webber at New York Comic Con. After receiving the petition, Webber said, "The best I can say right now is 'Don't give up, keep trying,' to all those guys out there, keep growing the cause, and we'll see what happens in the future." When asked about the possibility of sub-licensing or an HD remake of the game for PlayStation Vita, Webber also said, "Keep at it, you never know what can happen in the future. It's very open-ended."
The game shipped in Japan on January 27 and inspired the Senjō no Valkyria 3: Ta ga Tame no Jūsō video anime project.
