posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Japanese singer and voice actress Nana Mizuki will perform at Tokyo Dome for the first time in a two-day concert event on December 3 and 4. She will be the first voice actress or actor to hold a concert at this large arena venue.
The actress made the announcement before 25,000 fans in Saitama City's Saitama Super Arena during a Sunday performance. Mizuki has been traveling in concert since May as part of her longest nationwide tour in Japan so far, with final stops at the quake-hit Sendai on August 13 and 14.
Mizuki sings many theme songs for television and video anime, and she is also a prominent voice actress. She voices Hinata Hyuuga in Naruto, Fate Testarossa in Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, Misaki Kirihara in Darker than Black, and Wrath in Fullmetal Alchemist, among many other roles.
Earlier this year, Mizuki became the first Japanese voice actor to put two singles in the weekly Oricon top 3 ranking simultaneously under his or her real name. Last year, she became the first voice actress or actor with a #1 CD single on Oricon's weekly singles chart with "Phantom Minds." She has performed on Kōhaku Uta Gassen (Red and White Song Battle), Japan's most viewed music television program, for two years straight.
