On Tuesday, the Japanese communications service provider BIGLOBE presented a list of what it considers to be the top 10 anime news stories of 2010:
1. The big boom of K-ON!!
2. In the footsteps of Gundam, Evangelion is also recreated in life-size!
3. Live-action adaptations of anime and manga are big hits!
4. The great success of Comic Market 78
5. Theatrical anime are hot! Ghibli's latest work, Karigurashi no Arrietty, opens!
6. Satoshi Kon passes away
7. The big boom of Gegege [no Nyōbō] in the morning drama timeslot. Chofu, the destination of "pilgrimages" [to see Gegege no Nyōbō and GeGeGe no Kitarō landmarks], surges in popularity.
